I highly recommend the Gili Islands, especially Gili Air. The water is calm, the beaches are beautiful, and it’s easy for backpackers to find affordable accommodation. You can even see turtles while snorkeling!

Have you considered Karimunjawa? It’s less crowded than many popular islands and has amazing coral reefs. The local atmosphere is also very friendly.

For a more adventurous trip, I suggest Raja Ampat. It’s more expensive to reach, but the underwater scenery is one of the best in the world.

Nusa Penida is a good option for backpackers. The snorkeling spots are beautiful, transportation is available, and you can combine it with other island activities.
